This all-natural deodorant is handcrafted in small batches and contains probiotics that fight odor causing bacteria naturally. It also contains skin soothing oils and the highest quality ingredients and essential oils. This deodorant is not an antiperspirant and will not prevent you from sweating. It smells amazing and is even hard-working man and stinky teen approved. You may find that you will go through a pit detox phase after switching to a natural deodorant. Give your body time to adjust. The best time to apply your deodorant is before bed, but if you find this does not cut it like I did you may apply multiple times a day until your body has adjusted. This adjustment can take 2-3 weeks. Stick with it and you will restore your pH and your skin’s microbiome. Apply this deodorant sparingly. A little goes a long way. If you experience any irritation stop using immediately. This may be because you are sensitive to the baking soda sadly. But don’t be too sad since we are currently working on an option without coconut oil and baking soda; as some people have issues with these ingredients.
Conventional deodorant can contain a lot of harmful ingredients. Lets dive into why we want to avoid the following ingredients.
Aluminum can be absorbed into the skin and build up in our systems. Some studies suggest an increase of breast cancer and Alzheimer’s disease from use of aluminum containing deodorants. These deodorants are also antiperspirants that block our body from its natural process of sweating! Sweating is our bodies way of cooling off and purging toxins. When these toxins are not removed, they can find their way into our lymphatic system and can contribute to disease.
Parabens are chemical preservatives that have estrogen-like qualities which can mimic estrogen in the body and disrupt our hormone function and harm fertility and reproductive organs.
Alcohol can help deodorant dry faster, and kill some bacteria, but it can also dry out our skin and cause irritation.
Propylene Glycol is a synthetic compound used as an additive in conventional deodorant to soften the consistency and aid in absorption. This same chemical is used to de-ice aircrafts in cold conditions. Crazy right?
Triclosan is a preservative that can also disrupt hormone regulation. The FDA even classifies this chemical as a pesticide.
Phthalates are also common in deodorant because it helps dissolve ingredients. This chemical may be linked to preterm births, male reproductive issues, and asthma.
