Product Details
Organic Nettle Root is the dried root of Urtica dioica, the same plant commonly known as stinging nettle. Native to Eurasia and now naturalized throughout much of the world, nettle has a long history of traditional use dating back as far as the Bronze Age.
Over time, settlers carried nettle seed to many regions, where the plant often escaped cultivation and became widely established. While nettle leaf is known for its green, herbaceous character, nettle root has a deeper, earthier profile and is commonly used in traditional herbal preparations, decoctions, tinctures, capsules, and home apothecary recipes.
Because roots are firmer than leafy herbs, nettle root is usually simmered rather than simply steeped.
